PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY

so finally my board exams got over and I was sitting idle, extremely tired. I know I have not written a blog for a long time coz I was in search of ideas. but then I saw one of my old photos of product photography, I decided to write a blog on it. so here we go!

INTRODUCTION:

product photography is not just clicking a photo of a random object in a white background and uploading it, but we have to keep many things in mind. first of all product photograph is a photo in which the object needs to be presented in a very different way. product photo should be clicked in such a way that whenever someone sees it, he or she should become curious about the product. then they may start searching for the product on the net or they may even buy it!

product photography can be done for any object like headphone, shoes, watches, etc. and these images are presented in many places like tv advertisement, banners, it may be a post on Instagram, etc.

THE HACK

there are many professional ways in which product photographs are clicked. some are very costly, some are not. there are many blogs available on the net which can give you better knowledge about the "professional shoots". but I am going to tell you a hack in product photography. this is the way to do product photography with the help of plain papers.

STEP:1 choose a room which has a window closer to the table . or a room where there is a good amount of light. now place a plain white paper on the table or on the ground and set up some lights or lamps around or near the place. I recommend placing the paper on the ground as it makes the job easier. there is no need of using the tripod as this is just a hack.

STEP:2 now place the product on the paper. ensure that the product is facing upwards as the photo is going to be clicked from upwards. try framing the products using grid patterns. as this makes the photo look systematic and symmetrical. and just ensure that the shoot is being done with an adequate amount of light. it's not necessary that we have to place the object in a straight way, we can place the object horizontally, vertically or even diagonally.

STEP:3 when we are done with the framing, set your focus in manual mode and focus the object manually. we can even set the focus in auto mode but here we have to concentrate more on the focus and detail. in my photo, i tried focussing the button on the right side as it was the best way to get impressive detailing.

FINISHING TOUCH: DETAILING

when we are done by clicking the photo, that is the final output we get. it's on us if we want to edit it or not. but in some cases, we have to edit the photo to remove any patches or dirt on the product. or it will simply ruin the experience. we can even do the editing on our smartphones (snapseed) as we just need to heal the patches.

this is how I clicked the photo. when I put this photo on my Instagram (@sarvvvesh), I got an amazing response. people loved it! this way of clicking background photo is very easy as it doesn't even need and production or cost.
