As in the last blog, I told you guys that how much I love implying a motion. and I really got lots of response. so why not this time! but this time I am going to tell you guys about another concept, that is panning. as it is also a brilliant method to imply motion. This technique is usually done on race cars, or even the cars running on the roads or two-wheelers or even a person running!

i still remember it was Sunday morning and I was getting bored. when I saw outside the window I saw some bikes running on the road. And the sun was shining bright so I decided to take some panning shots. I called my friend Aryan who is also an amazing photographer so that I will get a company. We both soon rushed to the decided location and planned for the photo. here is what we planned:-

1. THE SETTING

The most important thing to set while panning is a correct location. so set a location from where you can easily move the camera and check whether you are able to get the whole road in the frame. After that, the best thing to do is to change your camera to S (shutter priority) mode which is also called AV mode in some cameras. And another imp. thing is to set your ISO to auto. Now you just have to put on the required shutter value, as the camera will automatically adjust the ISO and aperture value. Doing this will make your job easy. And the most important thing is to set the camera to bursting mode.

2. ADJUSTING THE SPEED

If you are a beginner I would personally recommend you to set your shutter speed to (1/13) or (1/20). As it makes the job easier. But if you want more blurry background, slow down your shutter speed to at least (1/125). (slow shutter speeds produce more blur but it makes it harder to get a sharp shot)

3. SHOOTING TIME

It's really easy to shoot a panning photo. firstly set your shutter speed as required. Secondly look in the viewfinder rather than seeing directly on the screen to get a perfect shot. Thirdly try to keep the subject in a particular region of the frame and pan your camera in the direction of the car(i.e right to left or vice verse)

this is how we shoot our panning shot. it's a game of numbers where we capture 'n' no. of photos, delete 'n' no. of photos. and show the one which is the best.

And that is all about panning photography. I hope you guys loved it.

AND I WILL CATCH YOU GUYS IN THE NEXT BLOG!
